Students receive a printedrecipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they canshow off what they learned!Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation isencouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own.Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes. Sensory Friendly Open Gym is a dedicated time for children and their families (who have sensory issues) to enjoy a quieter and less crowded open gym time. During Sensory Friendly Open Gym, we will decrease the lighting, and provide sensory toys and equipment. The gym will be divided into two separate spaces, one half will be for sports related free play. On the other half there will be matted areas, small sensory toys, large foam shapes and blue building blocks.

For players who ALREADY KNOW THE RULES/SCORING but need help with general strategy and consistency on court. Players will play rotating games of doubles while getting coaching tips throughout the games. Sometimes there may be drills involved to help better understand concepts being discussed! These classes are a great way to get in-game repetitions and work on your on-court consistency!

Circuit Lab is offering two great classes back to back during December School Vacation. Participants can chose to register for one class for half dayactivities or register for the two classes to make it a full day option.Children who register for both programs will have a supervised lunchbreak with Recreation staff. This class will be cancelled two weeks from the start of class if there is low enrollment.Circuit Makers 101Let’s get creative with electricity! In this junior hands-on electronics class, students will gain experience with creating their own electronics; designing custom light-up greeting cards, electric games, mazes, and even musical instruments. Each class day consists of a circuitry lesson and a hands-on electronics project, using components like lights, buzzers, switches, motors, and sensors. Circuit Lab staff will make sure participants create many projects that they can be proud of, and each class day includes a take-home project.Robot Commanders 101Understanding how software can interact with robots is a key skill for the STEM jobs of tomorrow. In this class we provide several active, playful activities, where students learn about what it means to write, debug, and execute computer programs that communicate with different robotic devices. Using the power of code, students will turn Sphero SPRK+ robots into Magic 8 Balls, automated Red Light / Green Light games, and the arcade classic Pong – and Unruly Splats will become our voting machines, relay races, guessing games, and more.

Sensory Friendly Open Gym is a dedicated time for children and their families (who have sensory issues) to enjoy a quieter and less crowded open gym time. During Sensory Friendly Open Gym, we will decrease the lighting, and provide sensory toys and equipment. The gym will be divided into two separate spaces, one half will be for sports related free play. On the other half there will be matted areas, small sensory toys, large foam shapes and blue building blocks.

Canta y Baila Conmigo creates a playful, interactive atmosphere where language-learning is naturally and organically integrated into the musical experience. CyBC appeals to a wide variety of families, from native and heritage Spanish speakers to brand new Spanish-learners. It is different from other early childhood language offerings in that, rather than "teaching Spanish vocabulary through songs," CyBC teaches the "Spanish language through music." Because of the quality of the music experience, families come for the language and stay for the music.
