WalkMedford is a group of committed local citizens who work to make walking safer and easier to encourage better health, a cleaner environment and a vibrant community.
WalkMedford partners with other city organizations to offer group walks. Our goal is to get Medford residents out, meet our neighbors, and discover how enjoyable Medford can be on foot.

The walk groups below are free but please register for planning purposes.

June 30th: 4:00 PM - "Schools Out Summer Fun" Farmers' Market Walk
Join a family-focused walk to Medford Farmers' Market "School's Out Summer Fun" day.
Audrey Stanwood will lead a family-friendly, all-ages walk from the corner of Whole Foods at the bridge, along the Mystic River path and to the Farmers Market.
Colorful and creative attire encouraged!

Sunday, July 17, 4:00 PM: Sound on Mystic  group walk.
Have you been meaning to- but not quite managed yet- to get out and experience the Medford Art Council's "Sound on Mystic" nature, music, art and spoken word immersive experience along the Mystic River? WalkMedford invites you to walk a portion of the route in a group with two of the installation's creators Ian Coss and Gary Roberts and "hear a diverse set of sound works that are all united by the river itself, and its complex legacy as a place of history and nature, community and conflict, labor and recreation." We'll experience the installation as intended, and have time for some Q&A with Ian and Gary.
This walk will begin at the Condon Shell.
We highly encourage downloading the app ahead of time. It’s called ECHOES.xyz, and it’s available for free in both the Android and Apple stores. Once you open the app, you can search for “Sound on Mystic,” or if you live nearby it should pop up in the “Near you” section. The installation itself can either be streamed or downloaded. If you can, please download the full installation beforehand. We also encourage participants to bring headphones.

Wednesday, August 10 4:00 pm Medford History Walk with Laura Duggan
Playwright Laura Duggan is passionate about unearthing the stories of people in Medford History. She'll start at Salem Street Burial Ground, and lead folks on a walk to Craddock Bridge and around the square. Learn about Sarah Bradlee Fulton, Lydia Marie Child, the rum trade of the Brooks and Halls families, and the CCSR project that reminds us of the human toll in Medford's history.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
