Artist sketching a woman wearing a fashionable coat, surrounded by colored pencils and fabric samples.
Goal:
At the end of the course, students will have developed a strong mental framework to guide drawings for any medium of art they choose to specialize in. Each chapter will be designed to showcase the different thought processes and elements of art that are utilized by experienced artists to minimize their mistakes and efficiently learn from them as well. The design of each chapter  focuses on taking what students already know and guiding them in a direction that will elevate their art as well as providing strategies to efficiently try new things while minimizing bad habits. This is to allow artists of any skill level to find value in the course, while participating at their fullest, and allowing beginners to explore their creativity with a better understanding of fundamental concepts related to art and drawing.

Chapters (2 weeks per Chapter):
  1. Value Scale
  2. Perspective
  3. Drawing what you see (references)
  4. Still Life
