The Recreation Department and Medford Family Network is once again partnering to offer FREE Drop-in playtime at the Recreation Center. Led by Medford Family Network Instructor, Miss Cindy. Ride on scooter, tunnels, soccer, basketballs, slides, building blocks, and more will be set up in the gym to play with.No pre-registration is necessary. Participants will register when they arrive to the gym.

Sign up for Medford Recreation's Wrestling Club! This new Club Sport will be coached by William Helfrich and Hannah Bryson. This will be a great way to introduce your child into wrestling. Practice will be on Monday nights and Saturday mornings at the Medford Recreation Center. Throughout the season, wrestlers will have the opportunity to compete in competition. More details will be given during the season. All participants will receive the following equipment... At Hoops Without Limits, our mission is to empower and inspire neurodivergent youth through the joy of the game. We are excited to host our first ever session where we provide free basketball fundamentals training, personalized encouragement, and tailored coaching to help kids develop their athletic skills, build self-confidence, and experience the camaraderie of teamwork!  Structure: Individualized skill-building basketball exercises to for everyone, regardless of level Small-group activities that promote teamwork and social interaction Fun, low-pressure gameplay that allows kids to apply what they’ve learned Buddy system: Tufts University volunteers will partner with players in order to boost their athletic, social, and communication skills Our experienced and caring coaches are here to make sure every child feels included, supported, and comfortable as they learn and grow. We are excited to start our first session and look forward to welcoming your family to Hoops Without Limits!

Some examples are basketball, volleyball, pickleball, dodgeball, etc. Please expect limited parking during the shows. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Teen membership (free) is required to attend the 13-18 Open Gym

Medford Recreation coordination station, indoors at the recreation center. all equipment provided.  Coach Sue will teach various skills to develop stronger coordination. This will include directionality, spatial awareness, crossing the midline, and balance. Basic skills -hopping, skipping, running, galloping and jumping will be practiced each session in a lively, non competitive atmosphere. To strengthen balance low balance beams, rolling, poses, and balance pads. To strengthen directionality and focus scooter boards and parachutes will be used. Instruction will focus on development and enjoyment of the various strengthening activities. Each class will end with a new challenging obstacle course. Please wear sneakers.

Unwind, get creative, and have fun with friends at Teen Paint Night! This relaxed, instructor-led class guides teens through creating their own painting. No experience needed. All supplies are provided, and everyone leaves with a finished artwork and a boost of creative confidence. Perfect for beginners and experienced young artists alike.February 6:Join us for a night of Clay Pot Painting. Each participant will choose from a selection of clay pots. With guided instruction from staff, participants will create their own design on their pots! Pots will be coated with a finishing spray once complete and left at the Recreation Center to be picked up at a later date. Finishing Spray takes 12-24 hours to dry. Staff will notify all participants when their clay pot is ready to be picked up.

To strengthen balance low balance beams, rolling, poses, and balance pads. To strengthen directionality and focus scooter boards and parachutes will be used. Instruction will focus on development and enjoyment of the various strengthening activities. Each class will end with a new challenging obstacle course. Please wear sneakers.

Sign up for Medford Recreation's Wrestling Club! This new Club Sport will be coached by William Helfrich and Hannah Bryson. This will be a great way to introduce your child into wrestling. Practice will be on Monday nights and Saturday mornings at the Medford Recreation Center. Throughout the season, wrestlers will have the opportunity to compete in competition. More details will be given during the season. All participants will receive the following equipment... The Recreation Department and Medford Family Network is once again partnering to offer FREE Drop-in playtime at the Recreation Center. Led by Medford Family Network Instructor, Miss Cindy. Ride on scooter, tunnels, soccer, basketballs, slides, building blocks, and more will be set up in the gym to play with.No pre-registration is necessary. Participants will register when they arrive to the gym.

Get ready for the upcoming basketball season with our pre-season skills and conditioning clinic! Come improve your skills, build endurance, and gain a competitive edge. This clinic has two sessions, one for beginners who have little to no experience and the second is designed specifically for players who have previous basketball experience.  and *Skills Training*- Develop fundamental skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and defense- Focus on ball handling, footwork, and court awareness- Learn effective scoring techniques and strategies- Small-sided games to improve decision making.  *Conditioning and Agility*- Improve speed, agility, and quickness through exercises and drills- Enhance endurance and stamina through cardio and strength training- Increase flexibility, mobility, and balance *Clinic Highlights*- Knowledgeable instructor with high school and college experience- Small player-to-coach ratio for personalized attention- Emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership skills- Fun and engaging drills and games to keep players motivated and excited *Instructor*- Coach John Skerry has over twenty five years of playing and coaching experience and has run numerous basketball clinics, camps, and tournamets in Medford since 2015.- Boys Varsity Head Coach at Medford High School from 2015-2023. -Also coached at Tufts University, Minuteman High School, The Maimonides School, and Suffolk   University, and The Bay State Games- Captain of the Tufts University Men’s Basketball Team 1994 *What to Bring*- Basketball shoes and comfortable clothing. - Water bottle and towel. - Positive attitude and willingness to learn!
